Grandparents Love

24 04 2013

We’ve been extremely lucky to have both sets of parent help us throughout Henry’s birth and first days home. We couldn’t have done it without their help!

Paul’s mom stayed with us for over two weeks to help care for Amelia and be here when Henry was born. She made us many yummy meals and provided a lot of love and care. Paul’s dad brought her and came back to see Henry too. We love Grandma and Grandpa!

My parents came the first week Henry was home and stayed for a week to help with Amelia and with many things at home. My mom made delicious meals every night, they both did a lot of shopping for us, yard work and laundry and so much more. We are so appreciative of all of their help. Amelia and Henry have really enjoyed all of their attention too! Unfortunately Amelia got a cold this week and gave it to most of us. We pushed through it and have loved every minute of Mimi and Gaga’s visit.

They took Amelia on many walks in the mornings.

I’m not sure what I would do if Mimi weren’t hear to help me with my babies first baths!

Henry actually likes his bath.

Bringing Henry Home

24 04 2013

Overall the hospital stay was better the second time around. This was probably because we knew what to expect with all of the interruptions throughout the night for weighing, hearing screening, food ordering, night nurse shift change, etc. Also, we were not shocked by the more wakeful, hungry crying second night. The food seemed a little better this time around and the hospital has significantly improved it’s materials on breastfeeding and availability of lactation consultants. They said they were going for a WHO breastfeeding accreditation- awesome! Were ready to go home by the second day though. Anxious to be in our own bed and be with Amelia too.

Henry is very lucky to have a super daddy who loves him (and the hospital staff got a kick out of his shirt)…
